McKesson announces live RFID application for real-time tracking
McKesson, the world's largest healthcare services, automation and information technology company, has announced that it has implementated the Horizon Real-Time Location System™, the company's new radio frequency identification (RFID) solution, at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC. DHL expects to launch "sensor tag" service by midyear
Global shipping company DHL says it intends to release its newly developed RFID sensor tag to its pharmaceutical customers by the second half of 2007. Announced last month, the sensor tag is being developed by DHL and a team of RFID technology vendors. The service will allow pharmaceutical companies to use RFID to track the temperature and shelf life of products being shipped via DHL from warehouse to store. Read more...
Studies, nutritionists add to concerns about energy drinks
Some studies and nutritionists have warned against consuming too many energy drinks, but one marketing consultant says the danger factor adds to the drinks' appeal in a market geared mainly toward male teens and twentysomethings.
