The RFID Europe 2008 conference, which will be held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 in Cambridge, England, is attracting opinion leaders from around the world. Speakers include Brian Dobson of Transport for London, Vidar Kvalheim from Norway, and Ciaran Connell of DecaWave in the Republic of Ireland. According to IDTechEx, the conference organizers, the investment summit alone will feature speakers from eight countries.

Nortura BA—one of Norway’s largest food suppliers—has announced a project that will use RFID technology to track and trace poultry and meats from the farm, through the supply chain, to the supermarket. The technology, which is expected to be the first food tracking solution of its kind in the Nordics, will be developed by IBM and Nortura’s information technology subsidiary.
